Warping for Rigid Heddle Looms

So you have a loom and you have yarn, but you’re just not sure how to put the two together and get started weaving? A well dressed loom makes weaving a joy!

In this 6 hour class we will cover all the steps for direct warping your loom. We’ll go through beaming on with even tension, packing the warp, methods for tying on, weaving a header, and weaving off a short plain weave sample.
There will be a 1 hour break for dinner.

Ashford rigid heddle looms and accessories are available for use in store during the class. (Looms are also available for purchase.) You may bring a rigid heddle loom in good working order. Please let us know if you will bring your own or need to borrow one.

200 yds of a smooth worsted weight yarn for practice. Any wool or acrylic smooth yarn (2 ply or more) will work. Some suggestions: Cascade 220, Plymouth Superwash worsted. 
Other materials needed: Bring a notebook, pencil/pen and any glasses needed for close work.
Standard knitting supplies: Scissors, measuring tape.
